Has anyone got xvid to work in vista yet?
nope. i cant get divx to work either. oh and macromedia flash does not work on the 64bit version of ie7
I've only been able to find one working Xvid/MP4 codec that plays without any problems under Vista build 5728. All others (including Kopec's) didn't work for me. Some played video but no sound. The one from the following link works fine - both video and sound OK. http://free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm grab the last one on the list [SSE]. link should be highlighted as follows: Download [ FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2006-08-03 SSE - Mirror ]
I can't seem to get any videos to play in windows media player, just sound. I'm running RC1 build 5600. I would upgrade to RC2 5728 if i could find it, but it doesn't seem to be availabe on their website for me. any suggestions as to what the problem might be in my windows media player?
alright, well now dvds play, but lag painfully. I think all of my videos are a form of divx and that would explain why they won't play, but is there anything i can do to fix the lag of windows media player 11?
Obviously the codec doesn't work 100% with vista. I would forget about playing DVD's in vista and play them on XP or XP MCE instead until a vista is released in '07.
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm Tis a bit late, but I find the above codec pack seems to let pretty much everything play within vista.
