    Help,

I've just purchased a new HP Slimline computer with Vista Premium. The installation and setup went fine with the HP Slimline finding my wireless system (an older D-Link router) thus enabling me to access the internet, setup email, etc. The problem I'm having is that the Vista machine can not locate other wireless computers on my network (which run on XP and 2000). Furthermore, the older machines can see the Vista computer but can not access it. I've tried the fixes noted in Vista including setting the Vista machine to a private status (from public), turning on network detection, and making sure the LLTP (or whatever the name) software is checked. What am I doing wrong?

Any help and/or input would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rodan

Hi Rodan. I'm having the exact same problem which I posted in the Technical Support forum. I still haven't got it working.

Are you on the same workgroup as the other computers?

Mine are all on the same workgroup, with no success.

I had something similar on my XP network. It turned out my problem was caused by the firewall on my laptop. I switched it off and it worked fine.
