I have been able to get it all straightened out.

I now have noticed that Windows has an update for IE9,when I download it it works fine but it will not let me stay connected to mail or forums etc but IE 7 does.Is IE 9 worth having on an old vintage Vista OS(2006)

    Hi Dick,

Sorry for the slow reply. It sounds like you've got two separate problems there, so may be best to create a new thread if you've still got a problem.

The easiest way to do wipe the drive would be during the installation. Just boot from the Windows Vista DVD and when you get to the drive options page, just delete the existing Windows partition and create a new one. You can then continue with the installation as normal.

Or, if you've got a system from a company like Dell or HP, you may may able to run a factory reset once you boot your PC.
