I have a laptop dual-booting with Windows 10 & Vista. Whenever I feel Windows Vista on standby (close the laptop lid) and turn it back on, strange "folders within folders" will begin to appear in system folders. Most importantly, when I try to shut the system down, it hangs. I have to manually turn off the laptop, and when it boots into Windows 10, it runs a disk checking tool automatically & fixes up the corrupted drive. Why does leaving Vista on standby cause this to happen?

When you leave an OS in stand by the OS is still using RAM and Windows 10 doesnt know what to do with that ram, i reccomend you to leave Windows Vista on hibernation mode instead of standby
