    Hello

I just added a new floppy drive to my computer running vista home basic, but windows does not see it.

I tried another new one also and the same thing.

It's not even present in the device manager, but it's enabled in the BIOS.

Anything particular to do to make my floppy available in "My Computer"??

    Thanks for your help

Even when you shove a floppy in? Because that means that the device has to comunicate with the pc.

I had a simaler probelm but may be unrelated. I installed a floppy drive and spent ages trying to figure out what I had done wrong. I opened my computer up again after trying everything (to take the floppy drive out and throw it in the bin) and relised that I hadn't pushed the floppy ide cable all the way into the back. My advice is to check the cables are in properly, connected to the right port in the motherboard. If that all checks out, go into the motherboard bios, and see if the floppy drive is detected, if thats possible.
