    HP machines are a real "pain" in that they install all kinds of bloatware that runs without your involvement! First thing I do when I setup an HP machine for a client is remove all that stuff.

    Normally, you would only get that folder when you do an in-place upgrade from one version of Windows to another. DId you do any of your "reinstallations" in-place? IF so, Vista may have thought you were doing an in-place upgrade.

    IF there's no such folder, would just chalk it up to bad HP SW.
