When I play an audio track it plays fine. When I grab the progress bar and move the slider up a little bit further into the track time I have to wait maybe 30 seconds before the audio playing catches up to where I moved the progress bar to.

    Is this normal in WMP11?

Nope, not normal. Shouldn't take that long.

What are you system specs? And what do you have running while your playing files in WMP?Did you just install Vista? It could be the indexing running in the background. That should go away in a little while though.

My Windows media player jumps like hell when playing a video. I thought it was due to the divx codec not being compatable with Vista but the same videos play fine in divx player.

just bought e520 dell pc for my mate. good spec pc, 1gb ram, core 2 duo processor etc. i copied him some of my mp3's from my external usb hdd. they take about 7 seconds to play and at the end of all tracks there is some serious audio lag, jumping etc.

obviously windows is doing something in the background.

i ripped a cd thought and this plays instantly and there is no lag when executing or playing it.

    any ideas jynx?

    thanks
