Are you not able to get updates using firefox? Use internet explorer, I am a person that try's getting things done without issues. Internet Explorer is a official microsoft explorer. Or alternatively goto Start >> All Programs >> Windows Update and it will update your computer with needed updates. You can choose to get only microsoft updates or your other Products.
