before vista install i used knoppix to shrink myXPhard drive partitionform 100gb to 80gb then i installed vista on the 20 gb free space, now i would to use the bcdedit to have xp listedas the first boot order and make it the default os,not a prob since i printed the guide from here to do so.

when i load knoppix to resize the 20gb drive to 40gb the sys failes to boot, the partition xp is on is the active partition and the partition vista is on is the boot, page file, crash dump.i had read the topic on how to resize from disk managment in vistait will let me shrink the partition xp is on but will not let me stretch the partition vista is on,any way to increase the vista partition size larger?

    build 5384

You can try using other partition programs like config-magic which allows you to change partitions sizes on the fly.
