vista wont install anything

    hi, i use vista on my hp laptop and it recently just wouldnt let me install anything because i need "admin rights" but the thing is i am the administrator.

    i re-installed vista today, but with no avail

    anybody have a clue whats going on?

    OK, first of all you are NOT the Administrator. You are a general user with some admin rights. The "real" Administrator account is hidden.



    Reinstalling will not change this; this is the way that Vista is configured by default.



    To install anything, you right-click the install file, select Run as Administrator, and THAT will invoke the Trusted Installer for the program.
