    Hi all,

    Can you plz help me identify this problem?

    My Sony Vaio laptop has a problem with sata hard drive ==> I bought a new one.

    My system used to be Vista Business, so I wanted to install the same OS for new hard drive.

    I divided into 2 partition Wins(C:) and data(D:)

    Boot up my DVD ---> setup to Wins(C:) partition

    When It came near to final stage ( Complete installation) ---> Restart the laptop

    After restarting, the laptop is supposed to continue the installation. But there was a problem:

    Laptop passed the Bios/ Logo screen ---> black screen with the message:

    Press any key to boot CD/DVD .....

    I didn't press anything ( so that the installation can be continue)

    I waited for 4-5 mins---> the msg still there.

    Restart the laptop and eject the installation DVD --> there was no msg, just the _ and black screen.

    I waited 5 mins---> nothing happened.

    I think there was problem with my installation DVD ---> change another one

    ( both my DVDs are used to work well few weeks ago)

    The problem still exists.

    Do you know what was wrong with my HDD or DVD?

    +++++ I decided to find alternative way to install Vista Business +++++

    I installed windows XP Home.

    Everything was fine.

    Computer boot up successful.

    I inserted my installation DVD, and chose Upgrade option

    The up gradation process was fine.

    My Sony Vaio laptop is running windows Vista business now.

    +++++++++++++

    Do you know what caused the problem.?

    thank you very much for your time.
