Vista Home Premium hangs on startup.

    Vista hangs on startup on my Acer laptop when I don't unplug power supply after shutdown. It hangs after I put in the password and hit enter. It will simply hang indefinitely. Any suggestions?

    So, it will boot OK if the power supply is NOT connected? And it hangs if the power supply IS connected?
