Hi,I wonder if somebody can give me some advice and help please ?

I have an oldish laptop (Packard Bell) that is running Vista Home basic...it was given to my daughter by a relative but has never been quick and today while trying to sort it out to run a little faster for her,I got up the event log and EVERY single entry is either Critical or Warning with a few Error`s thrown in here and there.

The laptop has a valid anti-virus etc which is Norton.

Can anybody tell me where to start and what could be the cause of this please ?

    Thanks,

    One thing I found is......

"These drivers are causing Windows to resume slowly"

SiS VGA Kernel Mode Vista Driver
    SISGRKMD.sys
    Silcon Integrated Systems Corporation
    SiS Mirage 3 Graphics
4.9 seconds (time taken to resume)

The above seems to be the main thing that is slowing it down although there are 2 references made to...

Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Reflector
    WUDFRd.sys
Multi-card ...the second entry refers to device HSUPA Modem

    Any ideas ?

I`ve no idea if this is the cause of the problems but seems to be a place to start "!

    Thanks

I have some more info which states that the "device" is not working properly.

The device is Microsoft ISATAP Adapter,is reporting "tv_ConfigMgrErr31"
Plug and Play ID for this device is,ROOT\*ISATAP\0008.

it says to try to update windows but when I try this it just says all updates are installed.

The next window states that excessive paging is going on...I can reduce some of what is in the memory if this is what this is about.

I have found that the Microsoft ISATAP Adapter is not working properly.

It is because Windows can`t load the drivers for it and states a "Code 31".

Does anybody know what could be wrong or just what Code 31 refers to or how I can find out ?

    Thanks again.
