vista can not log on

    When I start my dell laptop, at the user's password mode, I typed in corrected password, it shows a message "the group policy client service failed the logon, access is denied" after while it logging off by itself and come back to log on mode.

    I was trying to log in thru safe mode but no luck,

    please help...

    Have you used your Dell in a domain environment, that is, connected to a corporate network? There have been problems reported with the password store getting corrupted as a byproduct of improper disconnects from a domain enviroment where the connection is broken while Vista is attempting to reset the password state.
