Unable to remove the readonly attribute even if I'm the Gods rotted owner.

    I take the object's ownership:

    Remove readonly and apply:

    But windows apparently thinks I don't really want to do that and undos it.

    I'm running Home premium on an HP Pavilion dv6470us.

    The read only box in the picture indicates that not all files are read only. This leads me to beleive that the operation completed successfully. If you view the properties of the files within the folder you will see that they are in fact not read only. All folders in vista as far as i'm aware displays the same blue box for read only, however only those folders which are ticked are in fact read only.
