I wrote a networkprogram and tried to test it in Windows Vista and Windows XP. Before the test,I try tolet CPU running something and usageup to90%. And then start my test program which is receiving packets from network continuously.

In Windows Vista, the throughput of receiving is the same while CPU usage is up to 90%or while CPU is idle. But in XP, the throughput is not so good.

A normal thread seems to have very high priority in Windows Vista.

My problem is, isthread management in Windows Vista differs fromWindows XP?

How can I adjust the thread priority in Windows XP up to real time class?
