Theoretically the x64 is faster and can handle more than 4 GB's of memory. In practice the speed difference is negligible if null. If you buy the Ultimate x64 you must have a x64 CPU otherwise it will do you no good and not let you install. The x64 version does come w/ x64 version(s) of most native software such as Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player etc..

In the end, if you have a x64 CPU then it's your call. Just beware that some manufacturers may have released Vista Drivers but not x64 Vista Drivers since they are entirely different which can make driver support a frustrating problem. Since beta, the driver support has gotten exponentially better and is now marginal but none the less a difference. Most software you purchase outside of Native Vista Applications will not have a x64 version, it really depends.

If you question was more along the lines of what features are different between the two version, everything is exactly the same just optimized for 64 bit word sizes.
