I have Vista now and am wanting to upgrade from XP.

I dare say a few of you out there have done this already and wanted to see if its worth the upgrade.

    My PC:

    P4 2.8GHZ

    1 1/2 GB of RAM

    ASUS Motherboard with HT

I dont have a direct x9.0 video card but will be getting one in a few weeks so i can live without all the fancy alt+tabbin g window effects and see through windows at the moment.

Will the above specs be substancial enough to run Vista smoothly???

Definitly, thats more then the requirments. I have run it on my P4 2.4ghz w/ 1.25 GB pc2700 ram w/ no HT and it ran fine. I was using an old crappy Geforce Fx5200 as well.
