I keep my StartUp list to a minimum and I think my PC runs pretty fast most of the time. Using "msconfig" I see a a whole list of processes running along with my StartUp programs. Should I wade through this list to see if I should eliminate any of these processes from automatically running, or is it normal to have many processes running?

It's normal to have many processes running ... but if you want to streamline performance, then it's generally worth the effort to go through the Startup list and disable the ones you don't really need.

I wouldn't mess with the running processes for now, just deal with the Startup list.
