I use a combination of Spybot 'search and destroy' and lavasoft's Ad-aware, and then the free version of AVG. The 3 of them work wonderfully together, what spybot does not catch, adaware does catch...and,...the rest...I dont notice....so...what i dont know about wont hurt me :D

I thought the free version of AVG didn't work on 64-bit systems?

Nevermind. Obviously they've changed it since last time I tried.

I used AVG for some time, no problems. Although I did find it to be pretty resource hungry compared to Avast.

Still, top notch free AV tho :smooooth:

Justone other program that is worth a mention is BOClean from Comodo it's a Trojan hunter and very light on system resources, self updating and just adding another layer ofdefense

Just so you know -- Comodo firewall has been implicated in a number of posts where folks were suddenly unable to connect to the internet anymore. They disabled the firewall but the problem remained. They had to uninstall the product to get internet connection back.

Apparently, this problem is not affecting you. BUt if you suddenly stop getting internet connections, this is something worth checking.

Technically it's not best practice to use multiple spyware or virus programs. You may think it is helping but in actuality, after you run spybot then run Adaware. Adaware is most likely just locating the spyware which spybot already quarantined and put in its vault.(Basically it found spybots vault and thinks is spyware even tho is harmless at this point) This is why software vendors recommend you not have more than 1 application installed.
