Can anyone help me, I am trying to split a zip file into 2, as the email will only send 15mg my zip file is 19 mb, is there a tool you can use to split a small zip file as the ones I have tried say it is too small to split. It is a family tree data base file.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First suggestion is to try to post your requests to the proper forum. This forum is for introductions, not for technical questions.

As for splitting up a ZIP file, AFAIK, you could try HJ_Split. Google for it and download it. But realize that it just breaks a single file into pieces. The individual pieces can not be used without recombining the file -- and you then have to use HJ_Split to recombine it.

I'll be moving this post to the General Technical forum. Look for it there.

The Folder Compression options in Windows will not let you break the file down, but Winrar will, as will later versions of Winzip (v9 or 10 I believe) as will 7-Zip

You do need all "pieces" and a similar program on the other end put it all back together again
