Does your motherboard happen too have a Nvidia chipset? It may bethis error is caused by a conflict between royal.sys which isa drive emulator often found in OEM versions of Vista that allows Microsoft to validate your copy of Vista without your knowledge,it issupposed to make things simple for the user......and the Nvidia chipset drivers. It occurs whenthe update for nForce4 PCI-ExpressRoot Port is installed. Roll backthe driverfor this from within your device manger if you can then restart your computer.

The One Click Activation feature of Vista can also cause this conflict but the fix should be the same.

Another possibilty is that someone hasattempted an activation hack which can also cause this error.........
