I'll leave out the ugly details of my screw up but the bottom line is by accident I renamed my inf file. Now of course my computer won't start. I want to throw my vista disk in and repair it at the command prompt. I tried starting in safe mode but that didn't work. My question is what are the commands for renaming a file in the windows directory? I tried a google search but I couldn't find any specifics. Thanks.
