My disc partition is nearly full. I have removed everything I can but found that hidden files in AppData contain 10 Gb, which I want to recover. Can I safely remove these files?

    No.

These directories (Local and Roaming) are where Vista and win7 moved Documents and Settings to. Removing these wipes out your application data.

Also, if you stumble upon a folder named winsxs inside the Windows folder, don't remove it, either. It looks HUGE but really, it's soft links to other stuff. Removing it risks serious damage to Windows.
