I just got a Dell system. Was deleting some files/programs when all of a sudden the Recycle Bin desktop icon disappeared.

How do I get it back?

    Thanks

Right click on the desktop and select 'personalize' at the bottom of the menu, on the screen that comes up there should be in white lettering the option 'change desktop icons' select that and you will get a list of the usual OS desktop icons which you can remove or replace by filling in the tick box.

It seems that the waysome 'context menus' are organised and the lack off accuracy with pointing in Vista it's quite easy to remove the recycle bin when you just wanted to empty it, at least it's easy enough to get it back.

It's annoying when you click delete instead of empty and it hides its self like that.
