My 5 yr old notebook came with 4GB RAM but can be maximized to 8GB. I am not having any problems or dissatisfaction but just curious what happens if I upgrade even to just 6GB. The reason for my "itch" to upgrade was I was offered by online seller a 4GB module for $50.00 which I thought was a real bargain. That means I have to remove one of my 2GB modules to accommodate a 4GB replacement for a total of 6GB.

What improvement/s do I expect with increased RAM? Would maximizing to 8GB be even better?(I mean I can buy two 4GB modules). Or am I just being a spendthrift ?
