Hi, I am new to Vista and I have been reading a lot about it but I have some questions that haven't been answered in my reading so far. So I am hoping somebody here can help me out. So here we go.

    1) How fast is Vista compared to XP? I am just wondering.. Am I going to miss XP?

    2) How is Vista with things such as programming and GFX design within Photoshop? Does Photoshop even run on Vista and does VB6.0 run on Vista?

    3) Does Vista support SATA drives? I have a WD Raptor and I am wondering if it will work?

    4) What is the best build of Vista?

    5) Can Vista network to other OSs' such as XP Pro?

    6) Is my video card (BFG Geforce 6600 GT OC AGP8X) good enough?

    7) How is Vista for stability? Once again.. Am I going to be praying I never left XP?

    Thanks a lot :).

Since MS hasnt released anything yet nothing is for certain but I have used both OS so I will give me input. Hopefully some other board members will to.

    1) You wont be missing anything w/ vista as long as your computer is up to date in its specs, vista is everything xp was w/ some more neat features and a sweet interface.

2)I dont know about vb6.0 but I know photoshop cs2 works fine in vista. Make sure you pc has at leaste 1gb ram tho it makes it a lot better.

3)Im pretty sure it does support SATA along w/ raid

    4) 5308 is the latest build and is feature complete(has everything final build will have)

    5) Yes it can network, Im doing that at home right now.

    6) Yes it certaintly is good enough, I have used a Geforce fx 5200 w/ only 64mb ram and it could work Vista perfectly.

    7) Right now it is getting alot more stable, take into mind its still in beta. 5308 has never crashed on me or anything, Vista is said to be a lot more reliable then xp when its in its final stages.

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply. That is very helpful and I think I am going to simply go from 1gb to 2gb of RAM just because I am slightly paranoid haha. I have a AMD 3200+ 64bit. But thats about it. Sounds great and I am getting Vista right now. Just as soon as I get my Mobo back from ASUS I will be ready to go :).

Hi again. I have another question haha. Does 5308 have DirectX 10 on it? Or am I going to have to wait for a newer release? Thanks a lot :D.
