Recently added a Sundisk 2GB flash card (on drive H) to my computer and went through Vista to setup this drive to use the "Ready Boost" feature (my computer also has 4GB of RAM).

Everything appeared to be working fine. No problem shutting down Vista.

Eventually started my computer again, and my computer hung (black screen appeared) after the Dell banner screen was displayed (Vista never started / turned off computer).

Removed the flash card, started my computer again, and the computer booted correctly.

Any ideas as to why the flash card seems to be the cause ofthis boot up problem?

Don't know about the card, but if you have 2GB of RAM or more, not only is ReadyBoost a complete waste of time, there's the possibility that it will slow down your machine.

You would do better using the USB stick for offline storage than for ReadyBoost.
