Every time I try to open a program by clicking on exe shortcut, it launches the "open with" box for me to choose a program from. This seems to apply to all programs like Internet explorer, system restore etc. I have looked at the File Association box and it appears to be in order. The problem is in launching .exe programs.
The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M200 running Vista Basic.
Can anyone please help to correct this problem??
    Many thanks in advance

Why are you right clicking the mouse to launch an app?

The left mouse button is used to launch apps.

I am not using the right mouse button to launch a program, the open with box appears whenever I try to launch a program with the left mouse button.

For those who may be experiencing a similar problem, I had about 20 Malwares & trojans.
Booted into Safe mode, which allowed me to download an anti Malware program plus Microsoft Security Essentials. Run both programs and solved the problem!
