Has anyone else reported a problem with installing latest (Jan15) update for IE8 for Vista KB2799329? Yesterday it caused my machine to turn itself off -- twice. Same thing happened this morning (Jan16). On restarting, it went to Startup Repair, then I chose System Restore. Update History shows 1 failed install Jan15, then a successful install Jan15, then a successful install Jan16. But now the New Updates icon says it's still 'available'. And I'm by now sure if I run it, my machine will go through the whole rigamarole again.

I see that the bulletin board system places computer specs in wrong fields.
