My version of Vista no longer sees its primary harddrive that it boots from. It boots from it but it is not detected as hardware. When I have Computer management open and looking at Disk Management (with only that HDD and the computer's CD drive plugged in) I only see the CD drive as a disk drive. The same happens in Device manager. Why has Vista stopped reconsing it's own boot drive?

    Clarifier:

Vista boots and I can access the drive. But it isn't dectected when looking at the hardware as a whole. The Motherboard sees it but the OS can't.

    Thanks,

try changing the master and slave jumpers around or put them on cable select. then load windows and search for new hardware in device manager
