    Hi

I installed office 2007 trial version on my machine (Vista), now to enter a new trial key for testing purpose, one of my friendsdeleted the DigitalProductID and ProductID keys from registry, now the problem is that I dont find the textbox to enter the product key, I can got to step1 to generate trial version key, but not the second step where I can enter that trial key. Please help, its urgent.

As you probably know, the ProductID field is what you enter, the Digital fields (there are two of them) are what MS converts the ID into for internal use. Only they know how to do that conversion -- which is why there are no keygens out there for Office 2007.

You could try creating the empty keys. You would need to create two (DigitalProductId and DigitalProductId4), both of type REG_BINARY, and enter zeroes to populate the field.

If that doesn't do it, to put it bluntly, you're pretty much hosed ...

Which is why you don't let friends muck around with your registry...

Ah! its really painful, it doesn't work. What does this mean, will I not be able to use the trial version anymore. Moreover, I tried to uninstall office 2007, so I am getting a message the set is corrupt, run CD to continue!!!

Hate to say it, but the symptoms you're seeing are typical of registry corruption, in this case, your "friend" removing some critical keys.

The link below is to an MS page that provides instructions on how to uninstall Office 2K7. Suggest you try that.

If this doesn't work, you may have to do a full system restore to get back to where you were before Office 2K7 was installed.
