    ok - so . . . I have been happily using the free firewall software from zonealarm, which I like because it doesn't have a lot of pop ups - i find them incredibly annoying. My friend said I really need to upgrade to the firewall pro - but I don't really want to spend money. The pro version from zonealarm is only $30 and it comes with antispywear and identity theft protection - but, still - do i really need it?

    Sorry no-one responded to you on this ... I'm only able to get here part-time ... but basically, you're unlikely to get a response to a product-feature-specific question like this on this kind of forum. You woul do better going to the product providers websites and seeing if they have tech support or customer forums and asking your question there.
