I've been using windows live mail, (on windows 7) for months & suddenly it doesn't send but still receives. Each time I send, an error appears, stating "Windows live error"
    Google error 421
    connect refused from (213.105.73.202)
Windows live mail error ID )x800CCC67
    Port 465
    Protocol smtp
    Secure (SSL): yes
    & no matter what I try, I can't send anything. I've opened a Hotmail account & I can send & receive.
Has anyone got any suggestions please.
    Thanks for any help.

Hi pja, welcome to the forums :). This could be just a temporary error, but as it looks like your IP has been refused connection it may be worth e-mailing GMail support to ask why.

If you want to double check your settings, the page to do so is here:

    Sending e-mails

Thank you Ian for your reply. I've not tried the link you provided, but will do so once I've got time. Am out for the next few evenings, so will do so once in with enough time to work it through, as I'm not very computer minded & have work things through step by step.
    Many thanks for your help.

Whenever I have to send GMail from my smartphone, I have to have SSL turned OFF.

Don't know if that's the same using a PC, though.
