well first of all welcome.... :)

with vista been a beta program some stuff dont work yet... for instance some sound cards dont work right, its all down to the drivers.. how old is this webcam?? what make is it???

have you tryed installing withthe disc?

have you done a windows update???

have you selected update drivers in device manager??

have you got access to xp still, try the webcam on there..... to be honest i just think its a driver problem you are experiancing.....

Yea it definatly is a driver problem, I know that much... I am asking what "Not enough storage is availableto complete this operation" means in terms of installing drivers. Sorry for not aking myself clear, cheers for the reply though :).

The webcam I got today, I'm not sure of the modleI think it's a"USB Webcam 680" but that could just be the drivers for most webcams, I'm not sure. I also downloaded the drivers from Driversguide.com and got the latest Drivers sent from the person I bought the Webcam of too. I got the same error form ALL these drivers... Is it possible to reach a limit on how many devices you have attched to USB? I have 10 out of 12 USBs taken up.

As for blaming Vista for the problem I'm not sure if thats what I'm looking to do, I am looking for a solution not a reason (Please don't take that the wrong way, I'm not being rude by any means, although it sounds like it).

    Cheers, TYz

i cant tell you what that mean in afraid, i had a similiar one with the sound card, that said " there is not enough system resources to run this device" i hunted for weeks trying to find out what that ment..... no-one new what itment, i disabled loads of devices trying to getit to work and it wouldnt, i put it down to a driver issue....

have you tryed visiting the webcamswebsite to see if they have newer drivers???

sorry i cant help out more but i have no other ideas as to what it could mean...

It was really annoying me so I formatted last night adn installed windows XP and it works fine (Im very impatient). I think I'll just wait till they realese Windows Vista and buy it... Windows Vista is mad, I whish it was out now :(.

Well thank you any way for all your help, with Windows XP running the webcam is fine. I really want to find out how to fix that bug in Vitsa beta! :)

When they come out w/ the first release canidate sp? in august it is free and most likely very very close to what you will get in stores. Download it then before buying.

Same error here, using RC1, with the same camera. I've tried all the stuff I can think about, compatibility, manual install, nothing works, I still get the same error,Not enough storage is available to complete the operation.Of course I have 150GB left on myHDD so I doubt this is a correct error message...The drivers workwell under XP however...

Update: it still doesn't work under Vista RC2, same error.

I do hope some drivers will soon be available for this inexpensive camera.
