new fan and now windows will not start

    ok i have a gateway m1624 the fan is a bit messed up and my computer is having issues suddenly shutting down. so i put in a new fan and now it gets to the log in screen for a couple seconds then shuts back down! one time i tried logging in it got it for a few seconds and then it said zone alarm could not start then the whole thing shut off. a couple off times i typed in my password in the log in screen and it said something like some policy failed and shut off again. also another note is I can get in through safe mode. any ideas? this is highly annoying! oh and for the record i have vista home prem sp2
