In XP there is a setting to prevent my (DSL) modem from waking the computer from Sleep(Standby). I can't find such a setting in Vista(Home Premium SP2). Can anyone please advise....

    Hi Robert,

Try the following, it may help:

    1. Click 'Start'
    2. Type the following text: 'Device Manager' (select it to open Device Manager)
    3. Click the + sign in front of 'Network Adapters' and double click the Ethernet device you have from the list.
    4. In the window pane that appears, select 'Power Management' and untick the box that says: 'Allow this device to wake the computer'

I hope this helps, I had the same problem as you did, until I poked about and found out how to make the Computer sleep properly without being interupted.
