Using the old style menu system I have come across an old game someone wanted removing, ok no problem, add/remove and uninstall went fine, no folders left over, no reg entries to clutter the place up all done.

But then............it still appears in the start menu> programs> filename > blank

so it points nowhere and apparently has no properties and won't even right click, I can't drag it off, move it or delete it and it's doing nothing and my head in.

Any suggestions welcomed short of taking a felt tip and scrubbing it out on the monitor.

    Happen after a computer restart?

Ive had an entry like that but I can't remember how I got rid of it. I have installed vista many times though so it could of dissapeared that way in which case would no way would help you solve the problem. Like I said perhaps restarting windows will restart explorer.exe and it will not find the entry when loading the start menu as it doesn't exist.
