The Windows MSRT update is driving me nuts.by insisting on installing itself again and again, even though the installation has been declared successful. This behaviour started in August 2015, and seems to be getting steadily worse. Take a look at this extract from my installed updates list:

Has driven me crazy also. I don't know if this is really a solution, and I'm hardly an expert, but I went to the manual (i.e., not from Windows Update) download site (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/malicious-software-removal-tool-details.aspx) previously - with mixed results until the current July 2016 update. As recently as May 2016, when I ran that manual download it produced the first Blue Screen that I have ever encountered; scared me stiff until I used System Restore. I couldn't find any references online to this problem. Mustered the courage to try the maual download this month with no problems, and it seems to have stopped the repeated requests to download despite an apparently successful install. It did ask me to install the June 2016 WMSRT, and I hid the request. We'll see next month...
