I will try my best to summarize this and maybe hopefully someone can provide a possible solution. And please forgive me if this is not the correct place for this but it was from a recovery that created my issue.

    1st:
I lost my admin rights for some reason, do not know why.
I did a system restore and was able to fix the admin issue however now there is an update issue.

The update is stuck at 6% downloading updates and upon shutdown it configures updates for about 30min. Each and every time.

I have used the system restore disk to get the c:\ prompt to look for this Pending.xml file and only find a Pending.xml.xxxxxxxx (guessing since I don't have the actual name with me). It will not let me rename it or do anything to it.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? The system is Vista 64 Home Premium
