Installing VISTA - Phillips DVDR1628P

    I am trying to upgrade my os to vista Beta 2, it says that i must update the drivers for my DVD drive but i cant find any drivers anywhere, can anyone help, the dvd isa philips dvdr1628p

    Seems like you have 2 options right now. I looked for drivers for the model drive but couldnt find any? Are you sure thats the model #?



    Anyways you can always just buy a new dvd drive they are cheap, around $20.



    Or you can mount the vista intaller to a virtual drive. This basically makes vista think its running off the dvd when really your just running it on a made up drive on the computer.

    I dont actually think its the dvd drive now, i think its my hard drive and contollers, except I have updated the firmware and still no joy.....help i have been told that it may the mode that they are using but have no idea how to change it
