I installed Vista on my ultraportable using a network shared optical drive as my laptop does not have a optical drive. Now when I select leagacy XP operating system in the dual boot nothing happens and I get a blank screen. So, I want to unistall Vista and recover my XP install. I cannot re-install XP using a shread drive (remeber I don't have cd drive!) as I need to boot with it. How can re-install XP without a CD Drive or how can I make leagcy XP work in dualboot? Any ideas?

First thing to try would be to go into vista and run bcdedit and make sure that the xp legacy is pointing to the correct area/drive.

    This will help:

As far as re-installing xp, If you can find an image of the xp cd you could mount it to a virtual drive using something like alcohol 120% and it would alllow you to install it like that. Or just buy an external cd drive which uses USB since you will probably need a cd drive later on anyways.
