info bar and icon problems

    i noticed when i click Start, then Documents, then any folder, the video files dont how a vid cap of the video file anymore, it shows the icon of a film strip w/ music note. AND, when in any folder, when clicking once on a file a info bar would pop up below with all the files info, but not anymore. PLEASE HELP. thanks
    HOLD THE PHONE........... i got the lower details pane thing figured out, Organize then Layout then Details Pane.
