I have bo idea what this means but im sure someone will.



Ive Tried the remove updates thing and it isn't their. I have no system restore point. And I've tried running itin no addons mode.



All I want is to roll back to IE7

 

When Vista came out, lots of folks asked about uninstalling IE7 -- but were unhappy to learn that wasn't possible due to Vista using IE7 components for other functions, most notably, Windows Update.



One of the main reasons I have NOT installed IE8 is the likelyhood that it would overwrite those same components and either, could not be removed, or such a removal would break Windows Updates.



Which is why, if you're going to "experiment" like this, you need to be making full image backups or creating restore points -- the former being much more reliable than the latter.



If IE 8 won't uninstall, without a restore point, you're basically stuck with having to do a reinstall of Vista.

Can you not run IE7 at all? Or do you just want to get rid of IE8?

 

To get IE7 back and be able to use messenger again

 

OK -- here's a link to the MS KB article about IE8. Down near the bottom there are instructions for its removal, which are different depending on whether it was the beta or the RC 1:

If these don't work, you could try going to MS and downloading IE 7.
