I find that Office 97 is not working on Vista

    Yup....it's now SO OLD and insecure.......
    If you can't afford a newer version, try Open Office.

    Works fine. Don't know where you got the idea
    it doesn't.

    I dumped Vista for other reasons, but before I did,
    I had Word, Excel, and Publisher '97 all running fine
    on Home Premium.

    If you're referring to the problem with SR-2 not
