I get into a mode where all my keys seem to be mapped to hot keys. For example, P brings up the Printer screen, W brings up Word Finder, etc. I don't know what I do to enter this mode, or how to exit it other than reboot.

Does anyone know what this is and how to disable it?

If you're using a laptop, they generally have a special "fn" (function) key that is typically very near the Shift and Ctrl keys. I'm guessing you're pressing that.

Find that on your keyboard. When you press it, you should get an indicator on the laptop that it has been enabled. You will have to hunt for that indicator.
