I just finished building my new pc and got windows vista. Everything is setup in the bios and the Hard Drive appears normal. Set it to ide and turned RAID off. but when vista gets to the step where you choose the hard drive to install to its not listed. I tried the drivers on the disk the motherboard came with but it did nothing. Does anybody know how to fix this?

    Here are my parts

    965P-DQ6 motherboard (rev 2.0)

    WD 500GB Hard Drive WD5000AAKS

Do you have the jumper set to master or slave or primary and how many hard drives do you have in the computer?

Are you sure it's IDE HDD or SATA?
