    The name of the location where the hard drives has changed and I don't no why. It has changed to "80 Gb (1)" My hard drive is 142 Gb so I don't no why it has been called this? Does anyone know how to change it back? It is not the actual C drive that has cnaged name but the group in which its in.

    Which are you using to see the name of the drive:

    1) Windows explorer

    2) Start --> Computer

    3) Disk Management plugin

    Ww - wierd!! Go into the Disk Management snaping and see what it says there. You will be able to see the drive name, but it will also how you all the partitions on your drives. Will be interesting to see if Disk Management also thinks it's an 80GB drive.

    It says there is 123 GB free so I just dont know why it's called this this is what it fully reads.

    ">80 GB (1)

    Vista (C: )

    123 GB free of 142 GB"

    Do you know even what might of caused this? Because I would call myself pretty experienced in computers and I've never seen this before! I'm sure we'll find it out though :)

    OK - since the Disk Management snap-in sees it properly, just change the volume name in there.

    If the entry in the Computer panel still shows the old name, you may have to resort to searching for that name string in regedit and changing it there.

    Sorry. Can't find any way to do that. Mine says "Hard Disk Drives (2)". Have searched my registry and there's no string like that stored anywhere.

    It doesn't say "80GB"; it says ">80GB". Notice the "greater" sign.

    Does your BIOS have a selection during drive detection that has that option? That's the only thing I can think of.

    Yeah my friend pointed that out about 2 minutes ago :) Guess I wasn't thinking of it as a greater than sign. Thanks
