It was working before with XP but when I changed the OS to vista, the front jack is no longer working.
I checked the device manager and is says HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO DEVICE and the driver are 6.0.6000.16386 provided by microsoft.

What do I need to do??

Vista introduced an entirely new audio architecture model, rendering the previous XP-era drivers and software obsolete.

Since the default MS drive appears not to be working for you, you would need to Google the make and model PC you have to see what audio chip it uses, and what drivers and software are available for Vista. Once you find and install those drivers and software, the jack should work.
