Hello, the forum looks very helpful so I thought I should register and hope to stay here for all the Vista needs.

Right now one of them is that I use Photoshop CS3 to make layouts and graphics and such, but now when I go to websites such as dafont, I can't install the fonts. My Winrar gives me an error, and when I try to drag it into my Fonts folder it says that the files "..." is not a font file.

    WinRAR Error...

WinRAR needs to be running as an administrator. So either

    a) Start WinRAR as asministrator mode then extract the files. or

    b) Disable UAC in the control panel (under user account settings).

Disabling UAC is not recommended my Microsoft but it will alleviate alot of incompatibility issues.

Oh and also make sure your running and account that has administrator privledges (doubtfull you wont be).

Nothing, and I turned off UAC. And I am running on a Admin account.

Hmm and this happens with all font files?

Try extracting them from a file saved to desktop. Other than that i'm out of suggestions. Best of luck though, someone else on here might be able to help.

Don't know why you're messing with RAR files. I went to dafont, downloaded a font, and it was saved as a ZIP file. Expanded that, right-clicked on the TTF file, and it installed without difficulty. So, where are the RAR files coming from?

I would try another font site to make sure the problem is your pc and not the font. It sounds like the font is the problem, probably corrupt.
